Cockspur Lighthouse Kayak Tour
The Cockspur Lighthouse / Dolphin Bay Kayak Tour is our most famous kayak tour and definitely an experience you do not want to miss. This is a must do while visiting Tybee Island. Paddle with our experienced tour guides through Lazaretto Creek into Dolphin Bay, where Tybee’s Dolphins play. We pass the famous brown pelican birds sun bathing beneath the bridge with a host of other birds just sitting and enjoying nature; then a spectacular view emerges just beyond the tips of the salt marsh grass.
It’s Cockspur Beacon, nestled in the middle of the bay, we paddle over to the lighthouse and take a closer look from the water. The lighthouse stands tall, just waiting to tell it stories of of how it withstood the test of time. We call Cockspur Lighthouse the Lucky Lighthouse; once you hear the story, you will understand why we gave it that name. We continue our journey in the kayak paddling out in the bay looking for wildlife.
While paddling, enjoy the scenic view of the bay, where you can see Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Daufuskie Island, South Carolina; as well as other barrier islands. Relax and enjoy, as our tour guides share the rich history of the area and explain our unique Eco system.
